The Programme

The Healthy Longevity Talent Incubator (HLTI) is a passion project strategically designed to expand the critical pool of the brightest and most motivated future leaders in the field of Healthy Longevity. Generously supported by the Academy and our donors, HLTI offers a subsidized program fee to lower financial barriers, making education in healthy longevity accessible to all.

Target participants

HLTI is specifically designed for talented Master’s and PhD students and motivated early-career professionals who are seeking to make significant impact in the field of GeroScience and Healthy Longevity. Each year, we select 40 individuals who are dedicated to shaping the future of healthcare.

Eligibility Criteria

We welcome applicants from diverse range of nationalities and academic backgrounds. The programme is conducted entirely in English. 

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be proficient in the English language.
  • Be available for a 15-minute interview once shortlisted.
  • Reside on campus and be fully present for the entirety of the HLTI program.

Application Preparation

Get Started:

  1. Prepare your documents:
    • Motivation Letter: Draft a brief letter (no more than 300 words) detailing your interest and goals in healthy longevity.
    • Resume: Update and refine your resume of no more than two pages highlighting your relevant qualifications and experience.
  2. Submit your application: HLTI2024 Application Form 

Note: Your application will be considered only if all required documents are submitted by the deadline.

 

Programme Fee

Full Fee Payment:

  • Due Date: The full fee of $2050 (inclusive of tax) for HLTI2025 is due by April 7, 2025, which is 12 weeks prior to the start of the program.


Fee Inclusions and Exclusions:

  • Inclusions: The fee includes on-campus accommodation, meals, and selected activities at the National University of Singapore for the duration of the HLTI program.
  • Exclusions: The fee does not cover airfare, transportation costs, health insurance, and any other expenses incurred by the participant. Participants are advised to budget for these additional costs separately.


Deposit Requirement:

  • Amount: A $100 deposit is required to secure a spot in the program.
  • Timing: This deposit must be paid within 7 days of receiving an acceptance notification.

Refund Policy

  • The deposit or fee for the HLTI is refundable under specific conditions. To be eligible for a refund, participants must submit a request by April 7, 2025 and provide valid reasons for their request. Each request will be reviewed by the HLTI organizers, and refunds will be processed only upon approval.

HLTI Grant Support

To ensures that finances are not a barrier to participation and promotes inclusivity within the program, the HLTI grant offers scaled financial support of the course fees based on the applicant's assessed financial need.

All participants seeking financial aid are required to submit two key documents: 1) a statement of financial circumstance, and 2) proof of other scholarship/grant applications. It is important to note that meeting the eligibility criteria for a grant tier does not guarantee the award of a grant, as the final selection depends on a comprehensive assessment of all applications.

Grant Tiers and Eligibility:

Full Grant

  • Covers the entire course fee of $2050.
  • Eligibility: Available to applicants from countries identified by the World Bank as having low to lower-medium income levels. 


75% Partial Grant

  • Covers 75% of the course fee, amounting to $550.
  • Eligibility Criteria: Available to Master’s and PhD students who are currently enrolled in their degree programs.

50% Partial Grant

  • Covers 50% of the course fee, amounting to $1025.
  • Eligibility Criteria: Available to research fellows and early career professionals .

Application Requirements:

  1. Statement of Financial Circumstance: Provide a detailed statement explaining your financial situation and the reasons you are seeking financial support. Describe any difficulties you are experiencing that impact your ability to finance your participation in the HLTI program. Attach supporting financial documents (e.g., bank statements, pay slips) that demonstrate your financial difficulties.
  2. Proof of Other Scholarship/Grant Applications: Provide documentation of your applications to other scholarships and grants, including any response letters or emails you have received. These documents should indicate unsuccessful attempts to secure funding elsewhere, underscoring the necessity of financial support through the HLTI grant. Note: Applications for the HLTI Grant itself are not considered as part of this requirement. This section is specifically for demonstrating your efforts to secure funding from other organizations or programs. Please ensure that no documentation related to the HLTI Grant application is included in this section.
